Formula D Are You A Fan?
A lot people have never even heard Formula D or Formula Drifting which gives far better clue what this motor sport is really all about. In deed like all competitive motor sports takes great deal skill because the cars concerned can be anything from 200 to 600 bhp.
The purpose is to manage your car while slides sideways through pre-set course style. The more style the better speed is secondary.
In way Formula D takes all the highlights out normal racing & packages them into one competition. The US drifting scene takes the excitement stage further though. They play two vehicles against each other at the same time.
This makes far simpler to compare the skills the drivers & makes for some really exhilarating close driving often the drivers vehicles are no more than inches apart.
This is electrifying stuff as the drivers control their cars through tremendous slides that would leave many drivers shaking. The nearest most drivers come to anywhere near this level skidding is once year on ice.
The sport drifting actually began Japan the mid Nineties but the drivers are now celebrities & the sport is crossing continents. In fact there are fans drifting all over the world spite the fact that Formula D still gets relatively small coverage. There are now recognized amateur drifting meetings the US Australia & Europe.
You could fact say that Drifting was an alternative sport until about 2003 when top Japanese professional drivers were brought to the United States for the first time to compete with local drivers en masse.
If you know Formula D or would like to please look up their website because is one the few means along with watching on TV that you can demonstrate that you support this exciting & relatively new motor sport so that will be able to stay afloat amid the harsh competition from more entrenched motor sports such as Formula One NASCAR & Indy.
You can show your support as stated above but you could also talk to your friends about it. Unfortunately as yet there are not lot locations where you can watch live Formula D competitions but some the few are California Washington Illinois & Georgia. If you can get along to one these live events then you are sure not to be dissatisfied.
